How to Find Undeniable Proof That Your Husband Is Having an Office Affair

Another late night at the office? Sometimes eating dinner by yourself one too many times can leave you wondering if your husband is really working late or if he's doing something he shouldn't be. How can you tell if he's having an office affair, why do they happen, and what can you do about it?

First of all, you should know that about half of all people admit to having a relationship with a coworker at some point in their lives. This number is a bit startling and really makes you wonder what it is about coworkers that leads to them hooking up.

Most people will spend about one-third of their lives at work. This causes your coworkers to become a sort of second family. It's kind of like high school, where you spend so much time around the same people day after day. It is only natural that feelings of infatuation, gossip about who is "hot," or working closely together on a project can foster feelings of attraction.

But how can you tell if something is a harmless crush or a real affair? If you want to know for sure if your husband is having an affair all those nights he claims to be working late, you're going to have to be a little cunning.

Next time he says he's pulling another late night to meet a deadline, swing by unexpectedly to surprise him with dinner. If he is there working late, like he said, he will find your surprise very welcome and a touching show of support for all his hard work. But if you show up and he's not there and his coworkers say that he left at 5:00, then you know he's up to something.

Now, even if he isn't there, that doesn't mean he's necessarily guilty of cheating. Who knows, he might be out buying a gift to surprise you with. All it means is that you just need to dig a little deeper.

Try this: hide a voice-activated audio recorder in his car. As soon as he starts talking, it will start recording. Then the next time he is working late, listen to the recorder the next day. If he is going somewhere with his other woman, you'll catch their conversation on tape. Pay attention to how they sound. Are they platonic coworkers simply going out to get take out to help them work late? Or do you sense chemistry between them as if they are out going on a date?

If you do discover an affair between your husband and a coworker, you must first decide if you want to save your marriage or if that is a deal breaker. If you do want to save your marriage, talk to him about it. He may need to switch jobs so that he isn't constantly around this woman.

But you should also work on improving your own marriage, which is likely to be a very difficult task. Most affairs happen because one spouse is not getting their needs met in the marriage. Have an honest, non-threatening talk with him about what he is lacking and develop a realistic way to meet those needs. When you have a happy relationship, you will never have to worry about your partner cheating. After all, happy couples don't cheat.
