If A Man Cheats In A Relationship He Is Cool, If A Women Is Guilty Of Infidelity She Is Not - Why?

The Internet is probably to blame but we see it all over the place nowadays in Hollywood and in celebrities. Mr. Woods the golfer being the most recent example although Mr Woods certainly has gotten more flack from the press and media than is typical for a man cheating.

It seems as though whenever a man is caught cheating in a relationship he is thought of as one way almost as though he is cool or he is just being a guy but the woman in the infidelity is a no good promiscuous blank?

And it goes back to the old double standard. Basically for whatever reason the way society looks at it is when a guy sleeps around it is cool. It makes them a bad boy or a rebel. And the way a lot of women are they are actually attracted to guys that cheat because when it comes to relationships women can be very challenge oriented meaning she will try to prove that she can calm him down or lasso him when other women have failed. Women see the bad boy as a challenge and cheating just adds to that bad boy image.

When a woman, on the other hand, cheats she is thought of as sleazy or promiscuous. Especially if a woman had the affair with a married man. Then she becomes a marriage wrecking w***. I guess in a nutshell you could say that society expects more out of women than they do of men may be? In addition to that men and women are wired differently genetically. There is definite truths to the idea that a guy is genetically wired to spread his seed around as much as he possibly can.

With so much divorce and infidelity going on in recent years, and the trend is rising not falling, I am beginning to wonder myself as a therapist if it is even healthy or normal to be in committed relationships these days. It seems as though it would almost be destined for failure which is why I personally have so much respect for older people. Older people in their 60s 70s and 80s are all married and have been married for 30 or 40 years or more and would never in a million years consider divorce. Maybe the elderly should be writing books on preventing infidelity.

Many people blame the internet but cheating has been on the rise since the 1980's.
